Hatara Kiroku
A work-time record app for the person who does the work
Nobody has a better claim to your working hours than you do. Hatara Kiroku keeps your own record of when you were actually at work, so you can look back on it calmly and on your own terms.
The iPhone app is currently in development and is not yet available on the App Store. An Android version is planned for the future.
Your record, kept on your own device
Hatara Kiroku is not a tool for employers to monitor staff. You are the one keeping the record, and you are the only one who sees it.
The app notes when you arrived at and left the workplace you registered, along with the date and time. Those records live on your iPhone. The app does not send them to any server. There is no account to create and nothing to sign in to.
It is less a tool for making a case, and more a way to answer a simpler question for yourself: how much did I actually work?
What the app does

Register your workplace
Set your workplace from your current location, or pick the spot on a map. The area treated as your workplace is a 100-metre radius around that point.

Log arrivals and departures automatically
Using iOS geofencing, the app records when you enter and leave the area around your workplace. There is no need to open the app and clock in each time.

Review by day and by month
See the hours for a given day, the monthly total, the number of days worked, the daily average, and your longest and shortest days, alongside a calendar view.

Estimate your pay
Enter an hourly or monthly wage and the app shows a monthly estimate, broken down by overtime, late-night, and statutory holiday premium rates. It is an estimate for your own reference.

Show the gaps instead of hiding them
When a departure was never recorded, the app marks that stretch as unknown rather than guessing at a plausible time. Those stretches are left out of the totals and counted separately.

Check what the app detected
A diagnostic log on your device shows what the app detected and when. You can export it as text, and what happens to that file is entirely your decision.
How the app treats a record
Hatara Kiroku is built around keeping the raw facts intact.
- The original record is never rewritten. What the app stores is the event itself: you entered or left a particular workplace at a particular time. Working hours are not stored — they are recalculated from those events every time they are displayed.
- What is unknown is shown as unknown. If a departure is missing, the app says so. It will not fill the gap with a convincing-looking time.
- Corrections stay visible as corrections. If your current location disagrees with the record when you open the app, a correcting entry is added and marked as such. The original entry is neither deleted nor overwritten.
On privacy
An app like this necessarily handles location data. That is exactly why it should be clear about what it does and does not do.
- Your workplaces and work records are stored only on your device.
- The app does not transmit this data to any server. There is no backend service behind it.
- There are no accounts and no sign-in. The app never asks for your name or email address.
- There is no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party tracking of any kind.
- The app does not record your route or travel history. It reads your location only when you cross the boundary of a workplace and when it checks the record as the app opens.
- To detect those crossings while the app is closed, it uses location access set to "Always".
The privacy policy sets out exactly what is collected, what is stored, how long it is kept, and how to delete it.

The iPhone app is currently in development and has not been released on the App Store. An Android version is planned, but is not available at this time.
